Stockport Masonic Guildhall was built in 1868 and has been a Stockport icon for over 150 years. The beautiful Edwardian building was originally a school, and operated for some 60 years before the Stockport Freemasons took over and moved into the building in 1932. The Guildhall also served as a home to evacuees from Guernsey during World War II.
The Guildhall still belongs to the Freemasons, and various lodges and chapters meet here at various times throughout the year.

Stockport Masonic Guildhall only opened its doors to private events in 1990, and ever since there’s been countless mysterious goings-on.
The sighting of a ghostly woman at the top of the stairs could be one of the most haunting and the phantom lady has been seen on several occasions by various members of staff and visitors. Who she is nobody knows, maybe we will uncover the true identity?
In the Grand Hall people have heard music playing, and many disembodied voices and dark figures lurking at the back of the room. Also a strange feeling of being watched
and people being struck by a sudden unwellness.

Dare you join us at this magnificent building?
